- Choose rechargeable when tiny batteries are hard to handle and nightly charging is dependable.
- Heavy streamers should test runtime with their actual phone, calls, music, and accessories.
- People in areas with outages need a backup power case or an alternative communication plan.
Power type should not override hearing performance, fit, service quality, or medical suitability.
6. Safety, Storage, and Recycling
Keep all batteries and hearing aids away from children and pets. Button cells can cause life-threatening injury if swallowed; seek emergency help immediately if ingestion is suspected. Stop using a leaking, swollen, corroded, unusually hot, or damaged battery or device and follow manufacturer/professional instructions.
Do not place batteries in fire, expose them to extreme heat, or mix them loose. Follow local rules for button-cell, coin-cell, and lithium-ion recycling; household trash and curbside recycling may be prohibited.
